Nisargadatta Maharaj answers this in the book 'I am That'. page 37-38.
Question : If time and space are mere illusions and you are beyond , please
tell me what is the weather in New York.
Maharaj : How can I tell you ? Such things need special training. Or, just
travelling to New York. I may be quite certain that I am beyond time and
space, and yet unable to locate myself at will at some point of time and
space. I am not interested enough; I see no purpose in underfoing a special
Yogic training. I have just heard of New york. To me it is a word.

Just for information, Nisargadatta Maharaj was the guru of Igneri
(sp?) branch of the Navnath sampradaya, which is supposed to started from
the teachings of Rishi Dattatreya {who is beleived to be an incarnation
of the Trinity of Brahma, VishhNu and Shiva}. Dattatreya is mentioned in
Markadenya PuraaNa, bhagavata puraaNa etc. He is believed to have composed
Avadhuta giitaa and is mentioned extensively in tripura rahasya.
Disclaimer : Though I immensely like Shrii Maharaj's teachings, I don't
have any connections to his organization and the above excerpt from the book
