The translations are by H.H.Wilson, and it was translated by him in the 1840s.

Please do not scare me like that! Anyway, I don't know about the publishing
house, etc., because I only have the xerox copies of the relevant pages
and not the book itself. It is published by someone in Calcutta.
I'd like to know the consequences: what happened to your friend? Went to jail
or something?
