It was certainly not a personal attack. I consider many of Prabhupada's
translations quite absurd. A recent excerpt/posting "What is Mayaavaadam?", from
one of his books amply demonstrates it. I posted a lengthy criticism of it, it
had weak reasoning, clashed with historical facts about the demise of Buddhism,
gave a completely wrong interpretation of a verse from the Shiva puraaNa and so
on. The article tried to portray a scholarly image, but left out details of
verses etc when there was a possibility of contradicting Prabhupada. I did not
say Prabhupada was ** or *!. I merely pointed out his ineptitude at
translating scriptures.

If you had read my previous posts, you might have realized why I made this
statement. Obviously you can't expect me to repeat about 4-5 explanatory posts
each time I criticize Prabhupada. Unfortunately, I did not save my posts on
this topic, perhaps you can do some net search and find the articles and then
post your criticisms of my reasoning. In fact I'd welcome that, or you could
indulge in personal attacks on how arrogant I am, like some other people in this
ng.

>scholars praise Srila Prabhupada's books highly, acknowledging that

Pray, who are these scholars? Most of these people know the spelling of
Sanskrit and not beyond that. BTW, I'd ask you to look at the skeletons in
Prabhupada's closet before saying that I indulged in personal attacks. After
twisting verses or thoroughly misinterpreting them, he comes to the conclusion
that Shiva was trying to mislead people and piously asks people to ignore him.
This is being sanctimonious, at best.

I am not repulsed by Gaudiya Vaishnavism. I actively look forward to Gaudiya
interpretations. They form a major portion of my humor archive.
