Rudraksha beads

I bought a mala of rudraksha beads at Achaleshwar Mahandeva in Mount Abu. 
I am unable to locate any information about these.  I was told that the 
beads represent tears of Lord Shiva and that a mala of 108 beads + 1 is 
"best".  I would really appreciate any information or a reference.  Thank 
you.
