Dynamic Creation
Dear Friends:
Our creation was not a one-time thing, it continues today, as we evolve
and also new species appear on earth. It is all part of God's karma. As
He said in the Srimad Bhagavad Gita:
aksharaM paramaM brahma svabhAbo.adhyAtma uchyate
bhutabhabodbhavakaro visargaH karmasaMGYitaH. 8.3
(akshara is parama brahma, and svabhava is called adhyatma. Bhuta, bhAva
and udbhava these three types of visarga is known as karma.)
Three types of karma is described here: bhuta-kara (creation of the
material worlds), bhAva-kara (creation of the guna qualities),
and udbhava-kara (creation of evolution). In some commentaries, these
three works of God are actually described as works that men should do, and
they usually do not explain bhAva-kara, possibly since man can not give
away (visarga) svabhava. On the other hand, these three are God's karma,
as I read in chapter 9, verses 7-8 about how He gives away the material
worlds (bhutagrAma), creates and gives away the svabhAva qualities in men
(Chapter 4, verse 13) and creates and gives away evolution.
With best regards,
Dhruba.
