Hindu party selected to form new government of India
Hello,
I thought this would be of interest to Hindus. From a press release:

India's Hindu nationalist leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee said on Wednesday
his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government would be sworn in on Thursday.
``The president has appointed me as the prime minister and my council of
ministers will take oath tomorrow,'' he said.
Vajpayee spoke to reporters after a 30-minute meeting with
President Shankar Dayal Sharma.
He said the president had given him until May 31 to prove
his majority in parliament, where the BJP became the largest
single party but well short of a majority. With its allies it
has 195 seats in the 545-seat parliament.
Vajpayee has been seeking the support of more small regional
parties to form a majority.
