HSC and Women
If women are not allowed to recite Vedas, then how come there were
exponents like Lobamudra, GArgi, Maitreyi and so on ?
Since "Knowledge is power", I presume in the later days, people who
possessed knowledge would like to keep it to themselves.
It is a human trait. You can see such trend in the present day
corporate world, political and governemental arena. People who possess
the information is considered "important" and so retain the power.
Such was the tradition in the past. I presume that is why others (non
- twice born) were barred from acquiring the "knowledge".
