May I request that from now on, all the articles that appear on soc.religion.
hindu carry an informational subject header prefix.
The goal is to make the newsgroup easier to read. Here are some suggested
headers.
Administrivia - Administrative announcements by the moderator
Announcement - Announcement regarding events etc.
Web : Announcement regarding your WWW site, including announcement, update
etc
Request : Request for Information
INFO : Informational postings
News : News items relevent to this newsgroup
e.g.
WEB : Annoucing upgrade to Hindu Universe Web Site
NEWS : Discrimination against ISKCON Temple in UK
REQUEST : Need Date for Janmastami 1996
ANNOUNCEMENT Murty Prasthapana at Our Temple
INFO : Panchang For Today
I do admit that there will be postings that will may fit multiple
categories or "none of the above category". We will add more headers as
they are needed, of course, your suggestions are most welcome
In the mailing lists that I have moderated in past, this system has
worked quite well, so I am optimistic about its success.
I do not yet have software to allow me to add missing headers, and at
least in the phase in period, I do not intend to re-send the articles
back to the readers for missing prefix, however, I would urge all of you
to comply for the benifit of everyone.
