ARTICLE : SRH reorg by who ?
I oppose SRH reorg. I recall when Alt.Vaishanva was formed, the current
supporters of SRH reorg had argued that Vaishnava is a religion separate
from Hinduism dating back 600 years. And hence Alt.Vaishnava cannot be
be under the then alt.Hindu. Obviously, the proponents of Alt.Vaishnava
(if I recall it was Vivek or Sadanand Pai) considered themselves as
Vaishnavas and not as Hindus.
Now since they don't consider themselves as Hindus, they have no locus standii
to propose a reorg in SRH. It will be like Britishers asking a change in the
way India is being run. And in this effort they are being supported by the
SRV crowd.
Once again when SRV was formed, they were asked to initiate it under SRH
heirarchy, because Vaishnava thought is part of Hindu pantheon. Shankaracharya'
s panchayatan included 5 types of worship (Shaiva, Vaishanava, Shakta (devi
worshippers), Ganapatya (ganesh worshippers), Saur (sun worshippers).
Yet these SRVaishnava supporters refused. And now they want to change SRH.
Before they ask for such, they should make up there minds. If they are
Hindus first, then they should reorg the SRV to call it SRHV. If they are
not Hindus first, why are they seeking SRH reorg ?
Apparently these people have never bothered to read Shankaracharya or
Jnaneshwar or bothered to worship Vitthal (Lord Hari who carries a Shiv Linga
on his head). Hence these people would not consider Vaishnava as part of
Hindu panthon.
These "non Hindu" Vaishnavas are supported by a bunch of pseudo Hindus who
take pleasure in deriding everything in Hindu culture. They only highlight
negative in the Hindu culture without ever bothering to give magnitude of
problems. 1 sati in a country of 900 million in last 100 years is grounds
for condemning Hinduism for last 5000 years.
Lastly, I thank Ajay Shah for his tireless effort. God knows this sort of
work takes hours of personal time. His dedication and open mind have kept
SRH going in the Hindu spirit. It may not always be one tune that is being
played. Some times it may not be a harmony. But to be tolerant of opposing
viewpoints is the corner stone of Hinduism. Ajay has shown this more than
his opponents.
I may not agree with Ajay Shah on every topic, as there will be differences
of opinions on individual basis. No two people are clones. So we should take
the differences in stride and ignore this campaign for SRH reorg which is not
worth a Paisa (penny) or two.
So Ajay, Keep up the good word.
Please flames to SRH and not my personal mail. Thanks.
