ARTICLE : Who decided that all vaishnavs are not hindus?
SRV has a FAQ that says that all vaishnavs are not hindus. This is
really a far reaching statement, and I want to know who decided that.
Do vaishnavs have a scripture or any authority like pope for christians,
or what is the basis for this statement? I am really hurt by this, and
that this misinfornation is being spread on electronic media. Do
Rao or Pais have the authority to make such statement.
If some vaishnavs are not hindus, then who are they? Are they christians
or muslims or jews or atheists ? Is Vishnu a non-hindu deity? Does
Bhagvatam say that all vaishnavs are not hindus. Did Prabhpada say that.
I am thinking of calling the Hare Krishna here in Toronto, and find out
what there views are? If they don't think they are Hindus, then I wonder
why Our Hindu Temple "Hindu Prarthna Samaj" was distributing free feast
there.
What does it take to be a Hindu? If you accept Gita and Bhagvatam as
scriptures, Vishnu, Krishna, and Rama as Godheads, and I do not see how
they can say they are not hindus. I never heard of any hindu who said
that these vaishnavs are not hindus.
I want to hear on this from the netters, as I believe that this point
is closely related to SRH reorganisation issue.
