Being an Indian and born in a Hindu family I found quite a lot of
misleading people, who's only aim was to gain money and too make you feel
guilt. On top of that I also found that they damned me to rebirth after
rebirth, I felt very bad.
I then met the Hare Krishna's back in 1970, I have not been asked to part
with money and to be brainwashed, etc.... I also found the teachings to be
quite genuine and made it my business to check with my parents and family
as my family tradition is that of worship of Krishna and Ram. So far in all
these years I have found them to be very good and genuine.
With some of these other so called guru's I have found that people are
quite openly exploiting people who have problems, with such things as
astrology, metra's, havans, etc.... mainly guru's from India !!!
This is a sign of the times, people misusing religion to exploite. One has
to ask did the founder of the movement leave his body as a wealthy man ?
The answer is no. He was only interested in preaching. Even his family did
not want to know him. Granted that there are people who join the movement
who were bad but this happens when you attract so many people around the
world, there are bound to be some cranks. By enlarge I have found many good
people.

Sunil
