Hi,
Hinduism has a similar theory of to that of Adam and Eve(Manu
performs the dual role of Adam and Noah),he is also a lawgiver.Apart
from that there is an interesting theroy that the order of the
Dashavatars of Vishnu(Ten Incarnations) correspond to the evolution of
man.

1.Matsya(Fish)
2.Forgot the name(tortoise,amphibian)
3.Varaha(Boar,?)
4.Narasimha(half man half beast, pre hominid perhaps?)
5.Vamana(dwarf,early homo erectus?)
6.Parasurama(Fierce Brahmin,hunter-warrior)
7.Rama(Warrior,prehistoric man)
8.Krishna(Civilized man)
9.Buddha(Enlightened man)
10.Kalki(yet to come,somewhat of a Messiah)

These interpretations are very rough and are from my memory and are by
no means accurate, feel free to add/modify above, also pl remember this is
just a theory but then who knows!

Selvan
