Make up your mind about the "myths" about shiva and ganja obviously. The
original question asked "How come sadhus are shown with ganja in
photographs, but no connection between shaivism and ganja is found in
any of the texts?". Then when I replied that shaivism is based on the
Agama-s which do not allow ganja etc you (or gateavisa) claimed that you
were in possession of hoary myths connecting ganja and shiva. So make up
your mind about about what you know and what you don't.

The answer is: jobless people do what they want and claim a connection
to some god or the other. This is quite common in India. There is
_nothing_ which connects drugs with shiva in the purANa-s or the Agama-s
(AFAIK). If you know any purANa or Agama (any of the 36 Agama-s or the
6-8 shaiva purANa-s) which talk about this, I'd be happy to learn. Some
fairy tale you heard from some guy on the street does not count as
evidence.

?!! Snake poison is also found in nature. So, what's your point?

FYI, no one knows the composition of soma. The effects of soma are
interpreted only in a mystical sense and not in a physical sense.

Of course, they are unemployed freaks who are just using shiva (or
whatever god) as an excuse to smoke pot. That is so obvious. Real sadhus
and seekers follow the path of dharma. They may be unemployed, but do a
service to society by their mere presence, unlike pot-smoking, jobless,
so-called sadhus.
