Makar Sankranti

In the rural areas of India, this day marks the coming together of various tribes, communities in a shared experience of joy and celebration of life. A bumper harvest means the future is bright and an occasion to celebrate success.

For the children of all ages, Makar Sankranti means making colorful kites fight and cut the other to the sounds of 'Kaata'. Pretty girls dance around their rangolis in beautiful new clothes singing songs.
