FAVORABLE - HOUR USE OF HORA  

PLEASE NOTE THE TIME GIVEN IN THE PANCHANG FOR SUNRISE IS FOR GMT

¨      It is important to look for a day when the Moon and the lord of the day are favorable. Planetary periods can also be used to determine good times to do rituals (like Poojas or HAVANS). The nature of venture, starting of business, a marriage, the nature of the factors on hand.

PLANETARY HOURS Each planet governs certain hours of the day. They will give their main results at these times. Auspicious planets in the chart will give good results at their hours; inauspicious planets will cause difficulty, as per all the general rules.

¨      Influences will be compounded according to the favorable or unfavorable nature of the planet ruling the day (like the Sun for Sunday) and its relationship with the planet ruling the hour. The disposition of the Moon at the time is also important, as is the nature of the ascendant. 

¨   Planetary hours should be considered relative to True Local Time. Daylight Savings Time should also be subtracted when in effect.

     What is an astrological day? It is the interval between the sunrise on a day at a particular locality to the next succeeding Sunrise. As planetary hours commence from the time of Sunrise, which varies according to the latitude, and longitude of the place, one is to take the timings in the local meantime.

¨     The Sunrises in the northern latitudes, according to the season, which can be any time between 4.30 AM and 7.30 AM.

¨      Suppose one wants to note the time when Saturn will rule its hour on Wednesday, so that one can avoid: To fix the marriage during that time

¨       To meet an important person to negotiate any transaction. For this one should note: What is the GMT Time of Sunrise in London? Example it is 8.00 AM on 5th Jan.

The day selected is a Wednesday. Hence from Sun rise 8.00 AM to 9.00 AM. Mercury rules this particular Hour.

¨     The next is governed by Moon- which is 9.00 AM to 10.00 AM. The next belongs to Saturn, so Saturn will be the lord for the duration from 10.00 AM -11.00 AM. If one wants to do work on a building. Look for the period of Mercury and Mars.

THE SUN

¨      A well-placed Sun gives intelligence, perception, strength of will and character. It affords endurance, stamina, vitality, positive spirit, direction, courage, conviction, confidence, leadership, independence and straight-forwardness.

¨     An ill-placed Sun gives lack of intelligence, poor perception, weakness of will and character. It creates lack of endurance, low vitality, melancholy, fear, dependency or servitude, deviousness or dishonesty.

¨       An overly strong but ill-disposed Sun creates pride, arrogance, tyranny and control. It creates much of the same problems as Mars (or Saturn) when too strong.  A weak but spiritually disposed Sun makes us receptive, wanting to do good and self-effacing. It can indicate the government in general and whatever favors or promotions may come through it. It represents law and order on lower or higher levels.

SUN HOUR: Sun is the lord of Sunday.

¨      The Hour of the Sun will be most potent whenever Sun is strong: i.e. whenever Sun transits in its exalted or own sign and in the Nakshatra of Krittika, Uttra Phalguni, and Uttra Ashadha.

¨      Sun governs vitality, immunity and speedy recovery from diseases. Hence, to take medicine or to undergo surgical operations, solar hour is auspicious. Sun also indicates power authority, influence, dignity, honours and reputation, which means it is a good time to take charge of some important job or post.

¨      For assistance, one should select the Sun Hour. Sun, Mars and Jupiter combination. For the Judge or Law matters - Sun Jupiter and Venus.

¨       Doctor- Sun Mercury and Jupiter. For surgery or surgeons- Sun, Mercury and Mars.

¨     Sun Hour is beneficial for signing contracts (Sun, Mercury and Jupiter). Also good for registering of documents, to approach for favor, to execute a will, to let on lease property, to appeal for promotion, to complain to the police about the lost property.

¨     One can commence praying to Suryanaranyan and Lord Vishnu for peace and prosperity. Sun is exalted in the sign of Aries, and he is in his fall in the sign of Libra. The Sun is the indicator of the father, our ego, honours, status, fame, the heart, the eyes, general vitality, respect and power. 

¨     The Sun is in his strongest placement directly overhead in the 10th House. He is also strong in the other Kendras, or Angles. These are the Houses 1, 4, and 7.  The Sun also does well in what are called the upachaya, or growing Houses. These are the Houses 3, 6 and 11.

¨       He is particularly beneficial for the fire sign Ascendants of Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius. The Sun's metal is Gold and his direction is East. The first day of the week dedicated to the Sun has the special merit of the removal of sin, especially for Brahmins.

THE MOON

¨      As the Sun represents character or individuality, the Moon indicates our personality.

¨      Afflictions to the Moon show personality disorders, difficulties in relating to other people and emotional disturbances. A strong Moon, on the other hand, shows sensitivity, receptivity, caring for others and a nurturing attitude in life. It gives emotional maturity, responsibility and the capacity to have a beneficial effect upon society. Rahu can cloud it or cause us to lose power over our mind.

¨      A benefice Moon is often found in the charts of doctors, healers or psychologists, as well as good mothers and wives. A strong Moon can give power like the Sun. A strong Moon can outshine the other planets, sometimes even the Sun. Whereas the Sun creates the king or strong willed leader, the Moon creates a good administrator or a leader open to the needs of his people. The Moon indicates relationship, interchange, and communication.

MOON HOUR: Moon is the lord of Monday.

¨       When Moon is in Rohini and whenever Moon transits Cancer and in Hasta and sharvana Nakshatra days. Also it is advantageous to note whether Moon occupies the Kendra position counted from the Ascendant during the Hora of Moon, when it is strong.

¨      Approach people during Moon Hora. Even the strong willed person will be favorable to you. Those who deal in food materials and in oils, kerosene, petrol, acids, etc. can start business during Moon Hora on a Monday and Rohini Star days will be good.

¨      Pearls, jewels, ornaments, corals, can be purchased in this Hora. Purchase of property in the Moon Hora. The price of the property will increase in capital value.

¨    Moon, the fastest moving planet, suggests that Moon Hora is advantageous for safe and successful overseas journey. Musicians should select Moon Hora on Mondays or Friday for fertile imagination and melodious tune. Tuesday is beneficial for those who use drum.

¨    Moon period is preferable for those seeking appointment as midwife, nurse, etc. You can plan and contemplate during Moon Hora the right and wrong can be clear and easy to come to conclusions. Moon Hora in the night is good for pleasure. For public activities and popularity, for speeches etc.

¨     Moon Hora is good especially on Thursday. Good for gains without pains when dealing with mothers and maternal relatives.

¨    Hotels or wine bars may be opened on Tuesdays during Moon Hora.

¨    During Moon Hora pray to Goddess Lakhsmi and Lalitha for Peace.  With cooked rice, soaked in ghee and feed Brahmin couples. The bright Moon is considered a benefic of the highest order, and the dark Moon is considered a malefic.

¨    The Moon rules over the sign of Cancer. In Rohini, in Taurus where the Moon is exalted. He is exalted in Taurus, and fallen in the opposite sign of Scorpio. The Moon is most comfortable and powerful in the 4th House; also in the angles.  Metal is silver and the direction is Northwest.

MARS Mars is the great planet of energy. As Venus governs our affections, our emotional and vital impressionability, Mars relates to our passions, our emotional and vital capacity for self-projection.

¨       We could say that Venus governs our incoming emotions, our capacity to receive emotion; Mars rules our outgoing emotions, our capacity to project emotion.

¨       Mars is the planet of power, strength, and courage, aggression, which measures our ability to project force in life.

¨      On the positive side, a strong Mars is necessary to give us the energy, independence, will and self-confidence to carry out our endeavors--qualities it shares with the Sun.

¨      On the negative side, this same aggression brings about competition, argument, conflict--and when not checked by other factors, causes domination, control, violence and injury, a placing of our own personal will-to-power over the good of life.

¨       Mars is a critical, perceptive and discriminating planet.  His power of argument may, on the positive side, be able to give good skills at speech, oratory and the good logical faculties. The lawyer, the politician and the scientist need such a strong Mars. With logic and science, Mars gives mechanical skills. Combined with Jupiter, the positive side of Mars comes out as the capacity to make great achievements in life in harmony with law and truth.

¨     Combined with Saturn, its negative side usually predominates, creating selfish, perverted or criminal tendencies, particularly when there are no balancing factors. Where well balanced this combination creates discipline and the capacity for great accomplishments.

MARS HOUR Mars rules over Tuesdays.

¨     It is the lord of the Star Mrigashira, Chitra and Dhanista. It gets exalted in Capricorn- Makara

¨     Whenever Mars is strong by transiting in its own or exalted signs or in its stars and on Tuesdays. Especially when it happens to be the 10th house to the Lagna rising and during Mars Hora.

¨     It is good to file any lawsuit in a court of law, it is advantageous to argue during Mars Hora and win the case. On a Thursday during Mars Hora try for comprise and fair settlement for the property.

¨     To purchase surgical instruments Sunday - Mars Hora or the day of the lord of 12 and Mars Hora. To join duty in the Military, Police or Factory, Mars Hora on Tuesday is advantageous.

¨     It is lucky time to start a press, mechanical engineering, and industry, building construction or opening electronics shop on a Wednesday in Mars Hora. To join duty in a court of Law or take oath as a President, Judge etc. Thursday is especially good.

¨     Goldsmiths, jewelers, may have opening ceremony on Thursdays or Fridays. Mars Hora on a Thursday is beneficial for executive officers IN industry, church or colleges and schools.

¨     Those of you who are buying property during the Mars Hora, signing the documents in the morning between 6.30 AM to 7.30 AM having the Sun in the 12th Bhava will not enjoy the benefit of the value of the property, as the person will lose to others.

¨       But those who sign and purchase the property between 8.00AM to 10 AM having Sun in the 11th house will have the full advantage of the high price. You can buy coral, ruby and red colored articles.

¨      Best time to construct a house would be at a time when Mars is exalted; when Mars Hora is on and the Ascendant is Scorpio and in Vishaka 4th pada governed by Jupiter and the sub is Mars.

¨      In this case there will be no difficulty for the availability of money, building materials etc. For peace and prosperity pray to the Lord Ganesh. On Tuesday.

¨     Like Surya, the Sun, Mars most powerful position is in the 10th House. He is a particularly beneficial planet for Cancer or Leo Ascendants. His nature is pitta, or fiery. Direction is South.

MERCURY This is the planet, which represents speech, communication and commerce on all levels. In his lower function he organizes and articulates material resources.

¨      On a higher level he connects us with our inner capacities, the powers of the mind. As Jupiter generally represents the higher or abstract mind, Mercury indicates the lower or concrete mind, the intellect or informational mentality.

¨      As a planet of commerce, Mercury represents trade, or articles of trade, including money. He may value communication and public opinion more than truth, and become dependent on and defensive of whatever is the strongest environmental influence.

¨     Under a strong negative Saturn influence Mercury can lose its power and show lack of intelligence. Afflictions to Mercury do not always give lack of intelligence or intellect, however. They may cause some other harm, like speech defects, nervous disorders.

¨     Other planets, like Jupiter can give intelligence, but without a strong Mercury there will be difficulty in expressing it, particularly through the written word. Telephone, radio, television and computers are products of Mercurial needs aligned with the engineering capacity of Mars.

MERCURY HOUR

¨    Mercury Hour is very strong and powerful on Wednesdays during time when in Gemini or Virgo and on Ashlesha, Jyeshta and Revati star days especially Revati

¨     Admit children in schools and colleges on a Wednesday day during Mercury Hour, for success in studies. One can start learning important subjects in the Mercury Hour. During the Mercury Hour to deliver a speech especially on Thursdays. It is good time to take a job of teacher, accountants' etc on Thursday and Friday of Mercury Hour.

¨     Painters, artists and dancers can start on Fridays in Mercury Hour. Editors, publishers, booksellers, printers, press owners, publicity organizations can start functioning on Tuesdays in Mercury period.

¨       Most successful and efficient work will be done if one commences during Mercury Hour. Daily newspapers, ambassadors, agents representatives, brokers, auctioneers can begin on Wednesdays. Typists should prefer, Tuesdays, and Shorthand writers should select Saturdays.
