RESEARCH REQUEST
I am doing a survey of tower imagery in literature, myth, legend, history,
painting, etc. I need help finding further references. The particular
tower I am writing about is located on a hill, so any references re:
hills/mountains would also be appreciated.
As examples of what I am looking for:
- the myth of the tower of Babel
- the history and legends of the tower of London
- the image of the leaning tower of Pisa
- the image and meaning of the Tower in a Tarot deck
- hills as places where fertility rituals are performed
- hills as places where fairies gather or live
- mountains as symbols of spiritual isolation
