THE OLD VIBRATIONAL MODEL OF THE UNIVERSE

In article <ghenDr2Co3.MMK@netcom.com> shring@interlog.com (JBhardwaj) writes:

However, at a none sensory level all that red and blue are, is
vibrations. All anything is, is a vibration. We experience certain
frequencies in different ways. Some are sounds others are colours and
   yet others are touch etc.

Hindu scriptures state that the most basic truth about the universe is
vibration. Everything is a vibration. The reality of the universe is
vibrational. Before anything else there was a vibration that was Om.
This is the most primordial and basic vibration.

I think we can examine this theory of vibrations as comprising the
universe in a bit more detail. I think that there is some discussion
of chants etc. in Vedic texts, though some of it I'm sure must have
come about due to the need to come up with phonetics.

The basic theory that the universe is composed of certain vibrations
gives rise to the following questions:

   1) How can you, who are yourself a function of vibrations,
ever discern a a "pure" primordial vibration ?
   2) Can there be such a thing as a "pure" or primordial vibration ?
   3) How does such a primordial vibration then become variegated ?
   4) Where do such vibrations begin and where do they end ?
   5) If a mantra represents a pure vibration as created by the mouth,
can we also vibrate other parts of the bodies such as our hands
to create such vibrations ? What are the mantra equivalents of those
      vibrations ?
