Please help re. festival dates
I note some of the fierce debates in this mailgroup and am almost afraid to ask
questions of such intense people. Do you have time to talk to an outsider?
Can anyone please help me find information on religious events and dates.
I am particularly interested in gatherings of the Sadhus.
I am travelling to India Oct-Dec 96 and my greatest wish is to experience
the holy cities of Varanasi, Allahabad, Rishikesh, Dwarka, Haridwar,
Ujjain, Rameswaram and others.
I have read of the Kumbha Melas held every three years in the four cities of
Allahabad, Ujjain, Haridwar and Nasik. Please tell me, when is the next
one. What dates?
It may be too much to expect to experience a Kumbha Mela, so perhaps there are
other smaller festivals of greater frequency. I have heard of the
Shiva-ratis. How can I get dates/locations for these?
