Hindu Vaishnava: a person living to the east of the Indus river who believes
in Vishu as the supreme force.
nonHindu Vaishnava: a person living to the west of the Indus river who
believes in Vishu as the supreme force.

The term "Hindu" has been granted to whatever lies to the east of the Indus
river by the Greeks. The term "Hindi" originally refered to the language of
the Hindus, or the people who lived to the east of the Indus river.
In the texts of the religion we now call hinduism, it is clear that hinduism
was thought of as the TRUTH and not one mode of belief. This was Dharma. Not
a religion. Of course back then, there was only A so called religion.
