Hi Kristina,

If you read the Bhagavad-Gita you will know that prostitution is not
condoned as it represents a preversion of the teachings. In India there are
many bogus people, just think of the size of the country, nearly 1 billion
people. Each person has a mind and will of their own and we are a
democracy.

Here in Australia we have had problems with American groups who are
supposed to be "Christians" who have said that girls have to give
themselves to the men in the organisation. This is unfortunately another
case of Western sensationalist journo.

Let us look at the Gita for a reference ....In chapter 7 verse 11 it states
:
I am the strength of the strong, devoid of passion and desire. I am sex
life which is not cobtrary to religious principles, O lord of the Bharatas
(Arjuna).

NOTE - "lord" is in lower case. Meaning Arjuna is not God. The person who
spoke is Sri Krishna the Lord himself.

Commentary:

The strong man's strength should be applied to protect the weak, not for
personal aggression. Similarly, sex life, according to religious principles
(dharma), should be for the propagation of childern, not otherwise. The
responsibility of parents is then to make their offspring Krishna
conscious.

In Chapter 16 verse 8 it is stated :

They (demonic minded) say that this world is unreal, with no foundation, no
God in control. They say it is produced of sex and has no cause other than
lust.

Now would you say prostitution is condoned by Dharma ? The answer should be
no. To get further information I would approach suggest that you visit :

Grodinge, Sweden, - Korsnas Gard, 140 32 (753)291-51.

Or phone the Hare Krishna temple in England on +44 171 437-8442
or get in touch with a temple near you, before you write an article that is
sansational.

Regards,

Sunil
