This is an old Christian thing, when they invaded other nations they
justified it along the lines of "we saved the pagans souls". Nothing seems
to have changed.
The British and Europeans spent over 200 years in India and learnt nothing,
all they were good at was rape, theft, murder and occupation of other
peoples home. That describes their true nature (with the exception of some
good people).
