Achievements and Recognitions
of S VYASA
We have
a. the biggest yoga therapy research Health Home Arogyadhama
(with 110 beds) in the country with most
comprehensive and effective treatment through yoga,
b. produced the largest number of research papers (45) on
yoga therapy and other applications of yoga in
the national & international research journals of great
renown,
c. built a team of research
scholars, assistants & guides along with biochemical,
physiological, psychological, neurophysiological immunological laboratories
d. trained nearly 3000 yoga teachers to introduce
yoga in schools in 8 States.
e. our work spread in 20 countries with collaborative research
projects in UK & USA as Royal Free Hospital
London, Middlesbrough General Hospital, Fort Collins
chest clinic Denver, Eating disorders centre in Los
Angeles and University of Florida in Gainesville
on FMRI research.
f. been organising regular seminars & update symposia
and international conferences in alternate years in Prashanti
Kuteeram. The Tenth International Conference is
scheduled for Dec. 2000 in Tampa, Florida
Recognitions:
( i) VK YOGAS (now sVYASA) has been recognised by Dept.
of Scientific & Industrial research,
Ministry of Science & Technology as a research institution,
(ii) UGC mentioned in their letter dated Aug 10, 1993 (D
O NO. F.B-1/93) secy, as one
of the four premier yoga institutes
in the country and asked us to start yoga centres in
the Universities (we are running 5 centres),
(iii) Mysore University has accorded affiliation for us
for Ph.D. in yoga,
(iv) Bangalore University has recognised us as a
centre for running courses leading
to yoga including Ph.D. in yoga; the first batch has
completed one year already,
(v) Grants for research & running courses are
received from Ministry of Health & Family
Welfare, Department of ISM & H., CCRYN, DRDO of Ministry
of Defence and NIN Pune.
