I'm probably going to get flamed out the ass, but let me ask anyway. I
have heard it said both ways, that the polytheistic teachings etc. are
to be taken literally, and that they are to be interpreted
symbollically. People have argued passionately in favor each way,
claiming that it is the "only way to be a true Hindu." And why must
someone be born Hindu? Pray tell that it has nothing to do with the
ridiculous caste system...
